At the Riesling Night in Caravan's Kings Cross (London), the team of wine journalist Jancis Robinson staged a parade of the best German dry Rieslings and juxtaposes the great wines from the 2016 vintage with the matured vintage 2008 counterparts. The highest overall rating was achieved by the winery Keller (Flörsheim-Dalsheim) for the 2016 Hubacker Riesling GG and 2008 Hubacker Riesling GG.
In this illustrious Riesling spectacle: 2016 parish Riesling GG and 2008 parish Riesling GG - both from the winery KF Groebe (Westhofen) and 2016 fountain Riesling GG and 2008 fountain Riesling GG - both from the winery Wittmann (Westhofen).

Wines of Germany in Denmark called for the competition of the top 30 wines in the Danish specialist trade. From Rheinhessen the jury has included 2 sweet wines in their top list: 2015 Rothenberg Riesling Auslese from the winery Gunderloch (Nackenheim) and 1991 (!) Huxelrebe Eiswein from Liebenauer Hof (Winery Karl May, Osthofen).

Notable German Rieslings are presented by British wine author James Goode in his wine blog. From Rheinhessen, this quartet will be equipped with the 2015 Rabenturm Riesling from the winery Fritz Ekkehard Huff (Nierstein-Schwabsburg).

"Gesamtkunstwerke" is the title of the chapter in Caro Maurer's current gourmet column "Caro kommt rum" about the Riesling icons of the world. From Rheinhessen: 2012 G-Max Riesling from the winery Keller (Flörsheim-Dalsheim) and 2012 CO Liquid Earth Riesling from Kühling-Gillot (Bodenheim).

In her column of the Feinschmecker May issue, the Bonner journalist and Master of Wine Caro Maurer dedicates herself to the maturity potential of large Rieslings under the chapter "Wages of patience". She sees the best potential in the 2015 parish Riesling GG - but her admiration for excellent maturity is the 2007 Riesling Spätlese - both from the winery KF Groebe (Westhofen).

At the spring tasting of the International Wine Award Mundus Vini, a total of 6,770 wines were judged by the jury. Rheinhessen awarded gold medals: 2016 Chardonnay dry from the Cistercian winery Michel (Dittelsheim-Hessloch), 2017 Nierstein Roter Hang Riesling dry from the winery St. Antony winery (Nierstein), 2016 Niersteiner Riesling dry from the winery Louis Guntrum (Nierstein), 2016 Niersteiner Ölberg Riesling dry reserve from the winery Eckehart Gröhl (Weinolsheim), 2016 Oppenheimer Riesling feinherb from the winery Louis Guntrum (Nierstein), 2016 "Prelude" Muscaris fruity from the winery Abthof (Hahnheim), 2016 Scheurebe Spätlese from the winery Fleischmann (Gauss) Algesheim) and 2015 Alsheimer Sonnenberg Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese from the vineyard Krebs-Grode (Eimsheim).

Under the motto "Germany's coolest wines", the presentation of the German Wine Institute was held at the International Wine Fair ProWein in Düsseldorf. From Rheinhessen had qualified for the show of the 20 concept wines: 2016 Miss Hu Perlwein from the winery Wechsler (Westhofen), 2016 Pet Nat sparkling wine from the vineyard Riffel (Bingen), 2016 Eckelsheim Pinot Blanc dry from the winery Mann (Eckelsheim), 2016 Weißburgunder dry "Großstadthelden" from Weingut Welter (Engelstadt), 2016 Pinot Gris Dry from Johannes Balzhäußer, winery Dr. med. Balzhäußer (Alsheim) and 2015 Spätburgunder dry "friendly game" from the winery Zimmermann (Siefersheim).

"The Morstein Family" introduces Stuart Pigott in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. In addition to the Morstein icons of wineries Wittmann and Keller, a number of newcomers deserve high praise: 2016 Morstein Riesling from Weingut Seehof (Westhofen), 2016 Morstein Riesling Selection Rheinhessen from Weingut Alexander Flick (Bechtolsheim), 2016 Morstein Riesling from Weingut Rettig ( Westhofen) and 2016 Morstein Riesling from the winery Wechsler (Westhofen).

And again Morstein: In the international tasting of the magazine "Indulgence" went a trophy win to Rheinhessen for a great Scheurebe from a 45-year-old vineyard in this Westhofen parade: 2016 Westhofen Scheurebe dry from the winery KF Groebe (Westhofen). The 2016 Gelber Muskateller from Geils sparkling wine and winery (Bermersheim) was also awarded the title "Excellent".

Til Schweiger makes in wine: From the collaboration with the winery Dreissigacker (Bechtheim) has the actor, director and producer now the two Rheinhessen 2017 Pinot Gris Luna and 2016 Chardonn ...
