THE NEWLY DESIGNED EXHIBITION EARLY AND MIDDLE AGES IN THE EPISCOPAL CATHEDRAL AND DIOCESAN MUSEUM MAINZ
From the first traces of the christianity in the city up to the climax of the archiebiscopal power in the 13th century: with the new opening of the permanent exhibition early and middle ages, the episcopal catheedral and diocesan museum in Mainz ends the comprhensive refurbishment of its exhibition rooms in september 2020. The collection, which is in the vaulting hall, now hosts outstanding exhibits with the in 1240 emerged sculptures of the so called 'Naumburger Meister' and numerous carolingian and ottonian works and conveys the impressive history and effect of the bistum in Mainz through modern didactics.
