The castle of Alzey has a touching history about residence, war, destruction and rebuilding. Today it hosts the local court of Alzey as well as a girls boarding school- and once a year the nationally known Da Capo festival is taking place. On the second last weekend of the summer holidays in Rhineland-Palatinate the castle opens its gates for several artists and visitors which are equually enthusiastic about the unique ambhience.
Under the open sky and with a wine of delicious rhinehessian wine of the winegrower's cooperative Albig you can enjoy an appealing cultural program on four days, that offer the suitable show for everyone. From comedy ovver rock and pop music to folklore and classic music- no wishes will remain open. Over the years national and international stars like Patti Smith, Anastacia, Lars reichow, Mundstuhl and a lot more were guests.
On friday and saturday the city of Alzey welcomes each 1.500 people in the wonderfully illuminated castle courtyard to concerts with standing places. on thursday and sunday the events are with seats and invite 600 guests each which can listen to the excellent acustic of the historic walls.
