Old stones, mature wines
Ingelheim history meets mature Ingelheim wines: The "old stones" part in the form of a forty-five minute tour in Wackernheim is taken over by the Ingelheim tour guides. Afterwards, the participating wineries present three mature top wines as part of a small wine tasting, and a secco is served as a welcome.
Meeting point: Wackernheim town hall square
Start: 3 p.m.
Wackernheim - stories of water and wine
In Wackernheim the springs bubble. The steepest place in Rheinhessen is known for its rich water resources. The protected geographical location and the luxury of numerous springs and streams attracted the first settlements of Celts and Romans. Under the rule of Charlemagne, a typical Franconian village was created with the church at the highest point. The two churches are the focus of the tour through Wackernheim on the history of the place and its inhabitants.
Afterwards, the Rump and Weiand wineries will present a welcome drink and three matured wines in the Wackernheim town hall. Be excited to see what development potential the Ingelheim wines from the Wackernheim district have.
Wineries:
The Rump winery is a young, quality-oriented winery from Heidesheim. The vineyards are located in Heidesheim, Wackernheim and Nieder-Ingelheim. This variety of locations enables young winemaker Marcel to create a diverse range of wines. When managing the vineyards, the Rump family pays particular attention to using our natural resources carefully.
Jörg Weiand runs his winery as a sideline. And as a full-time job, he is fully committed to wine as group leader of the oenology department at the Rural Services Center. For him, it is the perfect balance to look after his vineyards and develop his own fine little wine line.
