Alzeyer Winzerfest

The Alzeyer Winzerfest takes place every year from the third Friday in September. Five days, from Friday to Tuesday, the old town of Alzey is celebrated with selected regional wines, good food and lots of music around an attractive fair. More than 100,000 visitors find their way to the Alzeyer Winzerfest year after year. The special feature of this well-known and popular wine festival is its mixture of wine, culture and atmosphere in the middle of Alzey. The focus of the festival is the Wein- und Sektterasse, which has been awarded the title "Rheinhessen excellent" since 2018. Here, on the newly designed museum square, visitors can taste wines from the region. Many artists and music groups provide suitable entertainment on the various squares of the city almost around the clock. On the Saturday of the Winzerfest, the city of Alzey awards the Scheuplakette to well-known public figures who have rendered outstanding services to the wine and wine culture of Rheinhessen as part of a representative wine tasting on the Wein- und Sektterasse.
