“Industrial culture comes alive” again at the Old Signal Box Armsheim North.

The signal box is open from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Expert-led and interesting tours of the block and lever works, as well as the tension room, bring the railway history of Rheinhessen and the work of a pointsman to life. There are two special highlights on this opening day of the Old Signal Box: The restored telephone cabinet will be put into operation, allowing visitors to communicate with each other from the outdoor area, the tension room, and the block and lever works. This demonstrates how the train dispatchers (FDL) used to call the signalmen/pointsmen in the signal box from the station via internal railway telephone, in order to then release the trains.

In addition, the Climate Protection Office of the VG Wörrstadt will provide information on sustainable mobility, the City Cycling event (June 6 - 26), and the Climate Coins, and will be available on-site at the signal box for questions as a competent point of contact.

On the Horst/Outdoors, 55288 Armsheim.
Parking available at the station or at the Wiesbachtalhalle.
Walking distance approximately 400 – 500 m.

Free entry, donations are welcome.
