The organiser Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH describes the event as follows:

Reading with Katharina Fuchs - "Our Precious Life".

An epoch in upheaval - The story of two decades: Three women go their own way.

Bestselling author Katharina Fuchs tells of her own childhood, the story of three young women who rebel against social ills and their parents' ideas in the 1970s.

Following the story of her grandmothers, her mother and her aunt, Katharina Fuchs now tells of a childhood and youth in the 70s and 80s. Mainheim 1972: Minka and Caro open the swimming pool season when their classmate Guy has an accident before their eyes. On the same day, the Vietnamese orphan Claire arrives at the children's home. The network of their fathers, the SPD mayor and the factory director begins to work. The friends realise that nothing is right in the small industrial town: Poisoned river water, animal testing and experiments with psychotropic drugs. How precious is a life? Katharina Fuchs tells an intense and authentic story about the peak of environmental destruction in the 1970s and how we had to conjure up the turning point ourselves.

The bestselling author tells the true story of her grandmothers as well as her mother and aunt in the historical novels "Two Handfuls of Life" (1914-1953) and "New Life" (1950s and 1960s).

Katharina Fuchs, born in Wiesbaden in 1963, spent her childhood on Lake Geneva and in a small town in Hesse. After studying law in Frankfurt am Main and in Paris, she became a lawyer and in-house counsel for a DAX-listed company. Katharina Fuchs lives with her family in the Taunus. "Two Handfuls of Life" and "New Life" are based on her own family history. "Unser kostbares Leben" is her latest novel after "Lebenssekunden".

Note: The 2G+ rule (vaccinated, recovered or tested) applies to the event. No masks are required at the seating area.
