Öffentliche Führung - UNESCO Welterbe - die jüdischen Stätten in Worms

from 03.07.2022 to 30.10.2022 - from 10:30 to 12:30 o'clock

In July 2021, the cities of Worms, Speyer and Mainz received the title of World Heritage Site from UNESCO for their SchUM sites. The cities are considered the cradle of Ashkenazi Judaism. On this guided tour, discover the Jewish monuments in Worms and their significance for the cultural heritage. You will visit Europe's oldest Jewish cemetery preserved in situ "Heiliger Sand" (outdoor tour) as well as the former Jewish quarter in Judengasse with the synagogue (outdoor tour). The monuments illustrate Jewish life in the city and, together with the religious tradition, the bond between the SchUM communities in every respect. Guided tour in German.

Start: 10.30 a.m., meeting point: Synagogue Square; duration: approx. 2 hours. The offer is aimed at individual guests and small groups of up to 6 people. Tickets at € 8,- exclusively online or in advance (children up to 14 years free, but need an admission ticket).

Please note that the Jewish cemetery is closed on the Sabbath (Saturday) and other Jewish holidays. When visiting the Jewish cemetery, male visitors must wear a head covering.

The State Ordinance on the Control of the Corona Pandemic in RLP applies, which regulates, if necessary, the wearing of medical masks, the tracking of contact details or the number of participants. You will receive the hygiene instructions when you purchase your tickets. Ticket sales: exclusively online at www.ticket-regional.de, or in advance at all Ticket Regional sales points, e.g. at the Tourist Information and Shop am Dom (Mon - Sat, during opening hours, NO ticket sales on Sundays).
