Funding call: Improvement of the infrastructure for electric bicycles and pedelecs

Cycling is fun, environmentally friendly, affordable and healthy. It makes it possible to cover paths quickly and flexibly. Electric bikes bring additional momentum and appeal to new target groups. Slopes, loads and longer distances can be handled more easily with the support of e-bikes. A market that is booming and also offers great opportunities for Rheinhessen, the land of the 1,000 hills.

In order to support projects to improve the infrastructure of electric bicycles and pedelecs, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture Rhineland-Palatinate has now launched a call for funding. For this purpose, EAER funds amounting to 1 million euros will be made available to the LEADER regions in Rhineland-Palatinate from the LEADER state reserve.

Possible funding areas:

• Development of routes / routes
• Realization of routes / routes
• Signage (planning, production, installation)
• Construction of a rental system (feasibility studies)
• Parking facilities for e-bikes
• charging infrastructure
• multimodal mobility stations (conception, construction)
• Service bicycles for municipalities
• JobRad for workers
• supplementary offers such as driving trainings, campaigns and action days.

The selection and promotion of the projects is carried out according to the selection and eligibility criteria of the respective LAG.
