Behind the name Genusswerkstatt Menges stands the restaurant of the couple Menges, which is housed in a former bakery from 1832. Their philosophy is "homemade is still the best". That's why they work together to produce purely handmade natural products and have been offering them in their online shop since 2008. Its products include, among others, liqueurs, vinegars, spice mixtures and fruit spreads.
Armin Menges has been working as a chef since the mid-90s and is the head of the kitchen. The menu includes a selection of meat dishes, as well as Mediterranean and vegetarian creations, refined with their own ingredients and fresh spices from the garden.
In the lovingly restored half-timbered house hostess Jutta Menges presents a roulade from the pasture with fresh vegetables and potatoes . The meat comes from the butcher Hassinger Blank from Flonheim. For the hearty dish a 2015 St. Laurent dry from the Flomborner Feuerberg harmonizes very well with its delicate cherry flavors.
