Discoveries from Rheinhessen in the new wine guides: The Gault & Millau Wine Guide has determined in the category of the best residual and noble sweet wines under 10 € the 2017 Blume Riesling Spätlese from the winery Braunewell (Essenheim) as best wine. In the Vinum Wine Guide, the 2017 Chardonnay Reserve from the Knewitz winery (Appenheim), the 2017 Feuervogel Silvaner, the 2017 Morstein Riesling GG, the 2017 Kirchspiel Riesling GG, the 2017 Pettenthal Riesling GG - all from the Keller winery shone next to the winner's champagne (Flörsheim-Dalsheim), the Frauenberg Riesling GG of Battenfeld Spanier (Hohen-Sülzen), the 2010 X. triumvirate Grande Cuvée brut Prestige, the 2008 Pinot blanc extra brut Prestige, the 2008 Chardonnay extra brut Prestige Vintage, the 2012 Pinot Noir brut Rosé and the 2008 Pinot Noir Blanc de noirs extra brut Prestige - all from the sparkling wine house Raumland (Flörsheim-Dalsheim), all of which could distinguish themselves in the top ten lists of their respective category. In Eichelmann's wine guide the 2008 "MonRose" extra brut from the sparkling wine house Raumland (Flörsheim Dalsheim) belongs to the top 3, the 2017 Riesling "G-Max" from the winery Keller (Flörsheim-Dalsheim) is the best Riesling, furthermore place the 2017 Morstein Riesling GG from the winery Keller (Flörsheim-Dalsheim), the 2017 Scharlachberg Riesling from the winery Bischel (Appenheim) and the 2017 Pettenthal Riesling GG from Kühling-Gillot (Bodenheim) in the top 10. First places in their categories were taken by the 2017 Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese gold capsule "AbtsE" from the winery Keller (Flörsheim-Dalsheim) and the 2015 "François Grande Reserve" from the winery Braunewell (Essenheim).

With the 2017 Guntersblum Gewürztraminer dry from the winery Hiestand (Guntersblum) Rheinhessen is in the final of the favorite wines of the year in the magazine "falstaff".

At the citizens' reception of the Federal President for the Day of German Unity in Berlin, the 2017 Grauburgunder "Staatsoper Edition" from the winery Wittmann (Westhofen) and the red wine cuvée 2016 Black Hole from the winery Manz (Weinolsheim) were excellent Rheinhessen ambassadors.

At the Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2018 there were several times gold for wines from Rheinhessen: 2017 Riesling dry from the winery Winter (Dittelsheim-Heßloch), 2017 Riesling dry from the winery Dexheimer (Spiesheim), 2017 Edition MC Sauvignon blanc and 2017 Edition MC Pinot Noir Blanc de noirs - both from the winery Zehe-Claus (Mainz-Hechtsheim) and 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from the winery Residenz Bechtel (Worms-Heppenheim).

In addition to the winning wines in their categories, there were further outstanding rankings for wines from Rheinhessen at the German Red Wine Award: The 2013 Oppenheimer Herrenberg Pint noirs from the winery Eckehart Gröhl (Weinolsheim) came in the top 3 Pinot Noirs, 2015 Ingelheimer Schlossberg Frühburgunder from the winery J Bettenheimer (Ingelheim) was among the best German classics, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from the winery Wernersbach (Dittelsheim-Hessloch) and ...
