Rheinhessen ingredients and exotic spices for opulent culinary delights

Pumpkin and apple chutney

The British brought chutneys to Europe during the colonial era, where it became customary to chutney put in glasses, thanks to its long shelf life.

Together with our Rheinhessen-based manufactory, we have now created our very own recipe: with Rheinhessen pumpkins, locally produced apples and, of course, a good shot of Scheurebe wine. Grape sugar and our Riesling wine vinegar make for a fine sweetness and acidity game. In addition to other spices, ginger provides the exotic flavors. Onions and hot peppers provide the delicate sauce with a slight spicyness.

The pumpkin-apple chutney goes well with roast or grilled white meat from poultry or pork. It also serves as a perfect dip for cold roast or cheese. A blob of chutney  on top of a prepared leafy salad provides opulent taste sensations on the palate.
