Together with Thomas Feser, Lord Mayor of Bingen and thus virtually the host of the evening, he was pleased that about 500 guests had accepted the invitation to the Rheintal Congress Center in Bingen, including representatives of cities and municipalities, associations and the state, and organizers, Sponsors and sponsors.
The association Rheinhessen Marketing has been working on this historic anniversary for about ten years, in the meantime actively supported by the Förderverein 200 years Rheinhessen and the project office 200 years Rheinhessen. Accordingly, the anticipation of all those involved is so great that we finally start.
And there is something going on this year: over 600 events are on the program. Exhibitions, concerts, lectures, sports events and much more. According to Eckes, "this is not just about celebrating a glittering party for a whole year. Rather, what is needed is the long-term effect. "The anniversary year is supposed to" bring about a new sense of Rhenish Hesse - an identity of togetherness, a departure into the future. "For Eckes it is clear:" Rheinhessen is the future! "
In Bingen, the economic and cultural region at least presented itself from its best, that is, diverse side. The program offered the right mix of entertainment and information: who would have expected to be live viewers of the talk show "Babbel (M) Nit" in Rheinhessen TV anno 1816? Grand Duke Ludwig "Luddi" from Hesse-Darmstadt and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe talk about the new Rheinhessen and its golden future. A brilliant idea by author Tom Meyer, original and humorous, and thereby professionally implemented by the Sebastianus amateur band from Nieder-Olm, directed by Volker Metzger.
An overview of the bulging event calendar was provided by Tobias Bartenbach, head of the project office 200 years Rheinhessen. By the way, the right program is in high demand: The first edition of 50,000 copies is already out of print, the second in print, as Bartenbach announced. The program brochures are available at many public offices in Rheinhessen, for example in the AZ customer centers, in the association communities, tourism information, banks and savings banks as well as in the municipalities and museums.
In the meantime, it continued on the Binger stage: two rounds of discussions deal with Rheinhessen as a business location and wine and tourism region. Moderator Andreas Kunze (Radio RPR1) welcomed participants as profound experts of the region, both locals and "immigrants": Hendrik Alfter (Managing Director of Oerlikon Balzers Coating Germany), Hans-Jörg Friese (President of the Chamber of Crafts Rheinhessen), Günter Reichart (EEA Executive Board) and Franz Ringhoffer (Managing Director Wohnbau Mainz) discussed the business location Rheinhessen. With Philipp Wittmann (winegrower and chairman of the Association of Prädikatsweingüter Rheinhessen), Katja Mailahn (author, Fachwerk in Eulengarten), Nina Wagner (cultural and wine ambassador, Weingut Wagner), Christian Halbig (Managing Director Rheinhessen-Touristik) and Dieter Schmahl (managing director producer group Winzersekt) everything revolved around the topics of wine and tourism.
Sporting highlight of the evening: the appearance of the multiple world champions in art cycling Sandra Sprinkmeier and Katrin Schultheis from Mainz-Ebersheim, who represent their home region as anniversary ambassadors.
Finally, there was another premiere: The (anniversary) champagne corks popped! All guests toasted with a glass of Riesling Brut Winzersekt "1816", which is issued on the occasion of the anniversary in a limited edition. Well, then: Prosit Rheinhessen! On your well, birthday child!
