The salt cake goes back to the era of bakery houses. From the bread dough, thin, salted pancakes were first baked for the temperature test. A variant of this widespread practice brought it to world fame, the Alsatian tarte flambée.

Ingredients / Shopping
For about 8 servings
Yeast dough (see dough recipe of the sausage in the dressing gown)
Salt cake with herb cheese '

  • 100 ml cup of sweet cream
  • 100 ml sour cream
  • 100 g cream cheese (200 g)
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • Chopped garlic clove
  • Salt, pepper preparation and tips

The Rheinhessen counterpart to the Alsatian Tarte Flambée is just as tasty as its famous "brother".
Mix ingredients together. Roll out the dough thinly and place on a sheet of baking paper. Distribute cheese mass evenly.
Sprinkle finely chopped chives on top.
