Winery Mayor Adam Schmitt

The Bürgermeiser Adam Schmitt winery is located in the tranquil Mommenheim in the middle of Rheinhessen. The 11 hectares of vineyards have been cultivated ecologically since 1996. Much emphasis is placed on careful processing in the vineyard and in the cellar. Most of the wines are fermented spontaneously and aged “sur lie”. The aim is to bring into the wine to the bottle without major intervention on the part of the winemaker and to produce a wine that is as authentic as possible with a terroir. In addition to Riesling, Pinot varieties make up the majority of the grape varieties. Some historical grape varieties like Grünfränkisch and Arbst complete the range. As a specialty, the winery also manages vineyards in the Rheingau.
