Ecological winery Peter Schmitt and son GdbR

We are a family run Demeter winery from Flörsheim-Dalsheim. After the transition to organic farming, it was only consistent for us to move to bio-dynamic cultivation, as this is the most environmentally friendly and thus most sustainable form of agriculture for us.
Another step in this direction is our natural wine line in which the development of the wines will continue as close to nature as possible.
A special feature here is our "Orpheus" - The wine from the underworld - which was expanded in an amphora made of clay and buried in the ground.
In addition to a sulfur-free Riesling, we also offer low-histamine wines for allergy sufferers.

On the estate German and English are spoken.

Tacheles Landrestaurant und Gästehaus Schmitt

Flörsheim- dalsheim_gutsschaenke-schmitt

Cuisine: seasonal, regional, vegetarian, allergy-friendly Since March 2018, the Tacheles Landrestaurant has been run by Diana Schmitt, who trained as a chef in star restaurants and upscale establishments. She spoils you with rural, regional and seasonal dishes. A speciality are the varied game dishes from our own hunting grounds. In summer you can also enjoy them on the garden terrace. As is well known, every good meal should be accompanied by good wines - here from organic cultivation, from our own vineyard and Demeter certified. Also on offer: celebrations in the Wingertsheisje at the Goldbergbrunnen, covered wagon rides, wine tastings, family celebrations, company events, day programmes. In a metaphorical name, this is a good vineyard location. Only rarely is such a name based on the occurrence of shiny rocks such as galena.

Nieder-Flörsheimer Frauenberg

Nieder-Flörsheimer Frauenberg (Women’s mountain of Nieder-Flörsheim)

Of nuns and damsels

Women were once in charge here: the site was first mentioned in a document in 1290 with the name "an frauwenhalten". Originally, the hill was owned by a nunnery. Riesling and Pinot Noir vines grow on loess and limestone. Benches and a table at the "Fräulein von Flersheim" trullo can be used for a rest. In summer, roses bloom lushly there. The red vineyard hut at the Goldbergbrunnen is partly catered for.

The designation of a hallway with this name rarely indicates the precious metal, but rather is an expression of general appreciation.
