Winzer casserole

The winemaker's casserole is based on the British pie. Remains of the week came in a casserole dish and were warmed up covered with mashed potatoes in the residual heat of the bakery - as simple as tasty!

Ingredients / Shopping

  • 400 g meat sausage
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 grated carrots
  • 1 piece of butter
  • 1 old bread roll
  • 1 good shot of Silvaner
  • Worcester sauce, salt, pepper, pinch of sugar
  • 400 g of cold mashed potatoes
  • 1 egg and a dash of milk

Preparation and tips
Soak the bun in Silvaner. Chop sausage and onion roughly. Put everything in a buttered casserole dish. Season the whole thing and moisten it with a few splashes of Worcester sauce before crumbling the dripping wet bread roll over it. Mix the puree with an egg and some milk until smooth. So cover the casserole dish.
Bake circulating air at 160 ° C in the oven for approx. 25 minutes. Serve hot and add a glass of Silvaner.
