At the opening of the exhibition "Literaturlandschaft Rheinhessen" selected texts by Rheinhessen authors, lyric poets and hobbyists were presented in the Wormser Stadtbibliothek on 7th September. The reason for this was a writing competition that had previously been initiated by the cultural expert and great-Rhoihesse Volker Gallé. What exactly does Rheinhessen mean for people, especially those who live in this wine-loving region? This feeling should, of course, be matched with the 200th anniversary of the region in 200 words on paper. It was desirable that aspects of landscape and language, mentality, past and future should be reflected in the texts. Many felt called and sent essays, feature articles or rhymed in High German, but also in the Rheinhessen dialect. "It was really interesting to see how many different perspectives the authors looked at in Rheinhessen," was the initial statement of Volker Gallé. The selected texts are now available for reading at www.rheinhessen.de/200-worte-rheinhessen .
