The church was built in 1864, after the parish had previously met in a small room in the town hall. The church serves as a place of worship for the Catholics from Monsheim and Kriegsheim and belongs to the parish of Pfeddersheim - Hohen-Sülzen - Kriegsheim and the diocese of Mainz. The seat of the parish is in Worms-Pfeddersheim. The church was last renovated in 2004 and until 2006 had the special feature that the two bells "Eintracht" and "Friede" were still rung by hand.
