The Festival of Wine Royalty

The first part of the election is not open to public. In the afternoon, every applicant spends 25 minutes answering questions on Rheinhessen wine topics in front of a panel of about 30 professionals. Whe answering these, however, it is not only important to give the correct answer, but also whether the candidate is able to get out of the affair, once she is not sure about the answer. The second part of the election, the evening event, is open to the public. In front of 300 people, the candidates need to overcome their stage fright and chat with the presenter of the evening, play little games and present their knowledge on wine and Rheinhessen. After about two hours, it is time for the actual election, which is done by the panel of professionals. After the announcement of the new wine queen and the princesses, they are surrounded by fans, well-wishers and fotographers.
