Philipp Kämmerer von Worms, also known as von Dalberg, designated the village church, which is fundamentally Romanesque and located near the castle, as the residence and burial church. The renovation began around 1470 under the direction of Jacob von Landshut. With this master of the Lower Bavarian school, a new trend-setting form language arrived in Rheinhessen. The nave received an extraordinary net vault. The east side of the aisles was closed off with elegant, canopy-like chapel additions. In the newly established family chapel on the southern aisle, Philipp was buried in 1492, along with his descendants, up until the 19th century. In 1904, the choir of the church had to be relocated due to the addition of an imposing transept. Despite this drastic change, the architecture of the Bavarian hut with its effective spatial sections has remained visible on the smallest floor plan. Liebfrauenland - Gothic in Rheinhessen
