Already in documents of earlier centuries, wayside crosses and holy huts are mentioned in Gabsheim. Of these, only two wayside crosses still exist today, one at the lower entrance to the village and one in the upper village, where the village used to end. The wayside crosses at these places today have been replaced again and again. The oldest is the base of the cross in the upper village, which probably dates from the 18th century. The wayside cross at the entrance to the village was renewed in 2010 according to the model of the previous cross (Text: Dr.Post).
