Since 2007 it has been official, the geographical center of Rheinhessen is located in Gabsheim. The local municipality was designated as the official center of the Rheinhessen wine-growing region by the State Office for Surveying and Geobasis Information of Rhineland-Palatinate. The point is also originatively located in a field that carries the old name "At Adam's Apple Tree." It is a beautiful spot, slightly off the road, with tables, benches, and information boards. From here, the view over Gabsheim and the entire hilly landscape can be enjoyed outstandingly.
