The local community Westhofen got 1334 market rights. Today, the market square is listed as a listed building and is one of the most beautiful in Rheinhessen. In the past, weekly and annual markets were held on the lower part, the goose market. The upper area served as a cemetery and burial ground. The main features of its design was the square in 1832. In the adjacent buildings, architectural elements have been preserved from the 16th to the early 19th century. Today, the marketplace is used for village festivals.
