Chanson icon Édith Piaf could literally sing a song about this, as her life was riddled with strokes of fate, which are also reflected in her music. The actress and singer Katharine Mehrling with her exciting jazz voice is now dedicating herself to the grande dame of French chanson and her German-American friend and colleague Marlene Dietrich in her chanson program at the Rheingau Music Festival. Full of musical beauties, together with Vassily Dück on the accordion and Ferdinand von Seebach on the piano, she brings the music of Piaf and Dietrich back to life this evening.
