The roots of the St. Beaufort folk trio lie in Germany, Canada and the USA. Following the original musical tradition of European immigrants, Joe, Henric and Tomás, who live in Berlin, embark on a journey through the Old World in their self-written songs - to the place where this tradition originated, to North America. How fitting that their band name refers to the polar expedition of the British admiral and explorer John Franklin in 1845. With guitar, banjo, double bass and three-part vocals, sometimes accompanied by a harmonica, mandolin or accordion, St. Beaufort has developed a sound all his own that can best be described as acoustic, raw, natural and unaffected. They skillfully build a bridge between the past and the present - bluegrass that smells like country, looks like the good old days and is as wild as Berlin!
