WeinGroove: Hiking, wine & culinary delights

After last year's successful premiere, the towns of Nierstein and Oppenheim are continuing their close cooperation for the "WeinGroove" event this year.
The second edition of WeinGroove will take place on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Nierstein at Raddeck winery, in the area around the Trutzturm tower and in Oppenheim's Landskron castle ruins . With this unique event concept, the two neighboring municipalities are once again giving the central tourist cornerstones of wine, landscape, music and enjoyment a unique setting in the entire region.

Once again, the "Trutzturm" tower on the border between Nierstein and Oppenheim, the Raddeck winery and the Landskron castle ruins as event locations form the cornerstones of the five-kilometre-long adventure mile. Breathtaking "views" await with vistas both into the Rhine Valley to the south over the town of Oppenheim, far-reaching views of the Odenwald and into the Rhine-Neckar region or over the town of Nierstein with far-reaching views over the Roter Hang, as far as the Taunus and into the Rhine-Main region to the Frankfurt skyline.

In terms of music, there will be six bands, three at fixed locations and three on the route, old acquaintances and brand new eavesdroppers. This year's line-up includes "The Powe" (oldies but goldies), "Musica È" (Italian music from Adriano Celentano to Zucchero), "Krüger Rockt! (rock 'n roll), "Fat Cheeks" (brass band from Rheinhessen), "Wandermusikanten" (handmade and mouth-blown: from classical and pop to film music or New Orleans) and "Pineapple Jukebox" (pop, rock, folk, jazz and current affairs).

Culinary delights are also on offer: from cakes, tarts, coffee and snacks to vegan burgers, game sausages and burgers, a wonderful variety of cheeses, tarte flambée and chips, there's something for everyone. The offer is rounded off with top local and regional wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Exciting program items also await the youngest and smallest guests.

Arrival & parking
In the spirit of ecological sustainability, which is at the heart of the event, all participants are encouraging guests to travel by public transport. The starting points of the route can be easily reached on foot from the respective train stations of the two municipalities as well as from the parking facilities at the REWE supermarket in Nierstein, the Landskron-Galerie, the ALDI and Lidl parking lots in Oppenheim. Parking or stopping on the field and farm roads is prohibited. Admission wristbands can be purchased at the access points for 8.00 euros per person .
