Hiworld tour Neuborn

The Hiwweltour Neuborn impresses with countless remote views, natural trails through vineyards and forest sections and the picturesque center of Rommersheim

The Hiwweltour Neuborn in Rheinhessen thrilled throughout with great all-round and remote views. So you have not only the vast vineyards and the surrounding villages Wörrstadt, Sulzheim and Rommersheim firmly in view, also many striking route points accompany the hiker from time to time different perspectives. The picturesque town center of Rommersheim is a great contrast to the otherwise close-to-nature hi-surf tour

Route guidance

The 8.1 km long Hiwweltour Neuborn starts at the Wanderparkplatz am Waldderholungsgebiet Neuborn. From here, the first section of the route leads through meadows and woods to the outskirts of Wörrstadt, where you can make a short detour to the center.

Leave Wörrstadt behind and dive into the vineyards. In the middle of the vineyard is the striking Burgundy tower, whose color stands out in the honor of the partner region Burgund from a distance in the eye. Up here you can not only blow the wind around your nose, but also enjoy the first of many wonderful views over Rheinhessen and its vineyards.

After the path leads down a few meters, you reach the small covered hut "beautiful view", which invites you to rest and educates with a small board on views and motives. A detour to the vineyard house Perka, a unique project of the TU Kaiserslautern, is connected with a small, steep ascent, the promising break at the house made of high-strength concrete, but worth every effort.

The Greifenberg with the striking stand-alone tree is the next milestone of the Hiwweltour. Here, the table of wine offers perfect picnic ambience with a 360-degree panoramic view as a background backdrop. An information board also informs that three Roman sarcophagi were found on the Greifenberg.

The trail leads through enchanted trees and shrubs and past a pond with grasses and reeds. Small garden plots with fruit trees, chickens and garden sheds announce that the picturesque town center of Rommersheim is not far away. The shady church square, colorful half-timbered houses and refreshment stops along the trail, before the Hiwweltour Rommersheim leaves behind and attaches to the rise in the next vineyard.

High above the brick red roofs of the village and next to spacious paddocks invites the rest area Lorlenberg for a break. Optionally you can also insert these at the Rommersheim stone cross a few meters further.

Time and again on the horizon past milestones of Hiwweltour such as the Burgunderturm or the tree on the Greifenberg can be seen. Through vineyards and meadows you finally reach the forest recreation area Neuborn again. The quiet rippling Neubornquelle offers cool refreshment and now the last few meters back to the starting point of the Hiwweltour Neuborn are only a stone's throw away. On hot days you can cool off after the hike in the nearby Neubornbad and enjoy nature in the middle of the forest for a little longer.
