The Gröhl family winery in Weinolsheim, Rheinhessen, has been growing wine since 1625 and can look back on 400 years of passion for wine and winemaking tradition. Now the 13th generation is taking over. Johannes completed his winemaking training at the renowned Rings, Philipp Kuhn, and Mathias Knebel wineries and is currently studying viticulture in Geisenheim. At home, he is making his first wines – the Niersteiner Pettenthal Riesling from the Roter Hang and the Niersteiner Hölle Weißer Burgunder are very impressive. Working in harmony with nature is just as important to him as it is to his father Eckehart. Franziska has completed her studies in international wine business with flying colors and works at the winery. Franziska is completely in her element during presentations, and it is simply a pleasure to witness this.
The Gröhl Winery is a member of Maxime Herkunft, the association of traditional sparkling wine producers, Wein vom Roten Hang, and Generation Riesling. In 2022, the Gröhl Winery took the step of converting to organic viticulture.
