At the "World of Rosé", a wine competition of the magazine "VINUM", 1st place in the category "Best of Germany" went to the 2022 Cuvée Rosé from the Lamberth Winery (Ludwigshöhe).

Deutsche Bahn is on the move, and the new wine list of the on-board restaurants includes three wines from Rheinhessen: the 2022 Pinot Gris from the Winter Winery (Dittelsheim-Heßloch), the 2022 Riesling from David Spies (Dittelsheim Heßloch) - supplemented by the 2022 Organic Rosé from Sebastian Erbeldinger (Bechtheim) as a summer promotion.

The only gold medal for Germany at the renowned Challenge International du Vin went to Weingut Schales (Flörsheim-Dalsheim) for the 2018 CARDINALIS Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot.

"A star is born" writes Senior Editor Stuart Pigott on jamessuckling.com about the current collection of Dr. Simone Adams (Adamswein, Ingelheim), calling the winemaker's current Pinot Noir collection a "revelation" and singling out the 2020 Ingelheim Pinot Noir as well as the 2020 Pares Pinot Noir as highlights.

"Quality, diversity, value" is the title of Julia Harding, MW, on jancisrobinson.com for her tasting results of German wines at the renowned English importer Howard Ripley - the best scores for wines from Rheinhessen: 2016 Nieder-Hilbersheimer Steinacker Riesling from the Knewitz winery (Appenheim) and 2021 Niersteiner Riesling from the Wittmann winery (Westhofen).

In the Neue Zürcher Zeitung of 31 May, author Peter Keller follows the scent of Sauvignon blanc. The trail also leads him to "Germany's Sauvignon blanc queen" Gesine Roll (Weedenborn Winery, Monzernheim) and her 2020 Sauvignon blanc Terra Rossa.

Vinum editor-in-chief Harald Scholl also singles out two Rheinhessen wines in his laudation of the now 30-year success story of Chardonnay in Germany: 2021 Oppenheimer Chardonnay from Kühling-Gillot (Bodenheim) and 2021 Chardonnay Réserve from the Wittmann winery (Westhofen).

The magazine "falstaff" also does not spare its praise for German Chardonnay. Among the top ten: 2021 Lohpfad Chardonnay from Adamswein (Ingelheim) and 2021 Ingelheim Chardonnay from the J.Neus winery (Ingelheim).

In its June issue, the Weinwirtschaft editorial team presents interesting new products for the wine market. From Rheinhessen: Georg Rieser's 2022 "Natural" Scheurebe from Immel (Westhofen).

Two interesting best buy recommendations from Rheinhessen are listed in the June issue of falstaff magazine: 2022 Sauvignon blanc from the Deiß winery (Uelversheim) and 2022 "Wertstück" Pinot Gris from the Winter winery (Dittelsheim-Heßloch).

In the Neue Zürcher Zeitung of 10 May, Peter Keller portrayed the Westhofen winemaker Katharina Wechsler. He highlights two wines from the Wechsler winery: 2021 Benn Riesling and 2021 Kirchspiel Riesling.

At the Rosé Cup of the online service "Gourmetwelten", the wines from Rheinhessen cut a fine figure. Up front: 2020 Rosé gold, 2022 Im Namen des Rosé, both from Braunewell|Dinter (Essenheim), 2022 La Refuge from the Alexander Flick winery (Bechtolsheim), 2022 Rosé from the Oekonomierat Johann Geil Erben winery (Bechtheim) and 2022 Ein Schluck vom Himmel Rosé from the Johanninger winery (Biebelsheim).

In the May issue of wein-post.de, Stephan Pinkert introduces the Kruppenbacher winery (Jugenheim) and praises the 2021 Weissburgunder "Kreidezeit" as his favourite of the collection.
