Happy harvest in the Royal vineyard in Alzey-Weinheim

The grape harvest in Rheinhessen is on the home stretch - this also applies to the Royal vineyard on the Weinheimer Trift. Rheinhessen wine queen Eva Müller and the wine princesses Andrea Böhm, Celine Feldmann, Franziska Gröhl and Romina Paukner have only been crowned for two weeks, and on the last weekend in September they were already allowed to harvest the Riesling in Royal vineyard.

With the energetic help of Natalie Bauernschmitt, the alderman of the town of Alzey and Weinheim alderman Heribert Raab, who was responsible for the transport of the grapes, and supported by the former wine royalty Rebecca Stephan, Kathrin Weinbach and Marie-Charlott Stöhr, the harvest was completed in just under an hour.

The Royal vineyard in front of the magnificent natural monument of the Weinheimer Trift shows a unique connection between the viticulture of today and the time travel through many millions of years of earth history in the middle of Rheinhessen.

The fact that the idea of a Royal vineyard became real was only thanks to the Weinheim winegrowers, the town of Alzey and the Alzey-Weinheim district. Together, they all took care of this project and thus enabled the Rheinhessen wine Royalty to create this living monument. A Royal vineyard needs intensive care throughout the year - the Weinheim winegrowers have also thankfully taken on this work.

With a glass of Riesling from Weingut Marx, all helpers were able to toast to a successful harvest in the Royal vineyard.
