The street "An der Burgkirche" between the market square and the castle church was formerly known as "Kirchgasse". A significant number of predominantly baroque buildings have been relatively well preserved here. Typical examples include the old butcher shop and the Protestant rectory.
Particularly impressive is the Bürgerhaus No. 10, dated 1740, which has housed a kindergarten since 1952.It features a high mansard roof, windows with ear framing, a balcony with intricately forged basket railing, and a staircase at the front. The classical door leaf, from around 1790, is adorned with a medallion featuring a Caesar's head.

One of the oldest half-timbered buildings in Rheinhessen is the former inn "Zum Schwanen", which has been documented at this location since 1450. Its typically late Gothic half-timbered construction probably dates from the early 16th century. The baroque entrance portal is dated 1736.
