Almost overlooked in the splendour of the neo-Gothic church is a small but very expressive vesper painting in a wall niche of the side nave. The sculpture carved from lime wood was created at the transition from Gothic to Renaissance around 1520 and is attributed to the workshop of Hans Backoffen. Liebfrauenland - Gothic in Rhinehesse
