A parish church dedicated to St. Peter, which had not been used since the Reformation at the latest, stood in the "Peterskirchhof", which was occupied until 1806, off the town in the deserted "Hedensheim". The church in today's village center, which took over the patronage, was built in an elevated position north of the castle on the village square, probably in the 14th century and has been documented since the early 16th century.
