The menhir was discovered and retrieved in the spring of 1927 in what is now called "Langewanner Graben." With a height of 3.15 m, a width of 0.70 m, and a thickness of 0.30 m, it is one of the largest spindle-shaped menhirs created by human hands in Germany.
A cozy picnic area has been created around the menhir, and information panels inform visitors about the historical find.
