This facility was used to burn the limestone, a process that was thousands of years old to obtain quicklime from the limestone rock. Quicklime was mixed with water e.g. B. further processed into lime paint or lime mortar. The kilns were built in 1872 and consist of three funnel-shaped combustion chambers surrounded by an artificial hill. The facility is managed as a technical monument by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Rhineland-Palatinate.
