Altrheinsee Eich

The three-part lake was created by the extraction of gravel and sand, which has since ceased. The water body is mainly fed by groundwater and to a lesser extent by surface water from the surrounding area. A narrow shallow water zone is immediately followed by the deep water zone.
Leaving the shore area, due to the great depth of the water with steeply sloping banks, can quickly become dangerous and is only suitable for experienced swimmers.
There is no supervision by the German Lifesaving Society (DLRG). Swimming is free of charge and at your own risk. The water quality is checked at regular intervals.
There is a sandy beach, newly built in 2018, which together with the adjacent sunbathing lawn covers an area of about 14,000 square metres. A beach volleyball court, a bowling alley (you have to bring your own balls) and a children's playground can be used here.
Changing facilities, toilets and parking spaces are available.
The"beach bar" offers snacks, regional drinks and ice cream for bathers.
