The lake is divided into three parts and emerged because of the extraction of gravel and sand. It's mostly fed by water and a little bit by surface water of the surrounding area. Today there's no gravel extraction anymore. However when you leave the shore area it can get dangerous due to the huge water depth with the steeply sloping shores so it's only suitable for advanced swimmers. There's no water rescue on site. The water quality is getting checked regularly.
The lake is often visited really well on hot summer days.
