Built in 1948, this was the site of the Binger pilots until the expansion of the Middle Rhine took place in 1974. The pilot house was the property of the Binger Pilots' Association. At the same time, it served as an order station and was constantly manned during the day. Orders from shipping companies, mail, and telegrams were delivered to passing ships by boat before the era of modern communication.
Today, the Binger Schifferverein 1895 e.V. operates the house as a pilot museum.
