The Mission Heisje
Shelter house from the year 1766
Sturdy construction made of quarried stones with a barrel roof. In the 1980s, the Heisje was renovated and equipped with a concrete plaster. At the same time, the staircase and terrace were cast, and a railing was installed.
Between 1983 and 2005, there was a "note mission" there: Believers could supply themselves from an open mailbox with Bible quotes and praises from the Marian Sisters from Darmstadt-Eberstadt. Can you find the two psalms that are still displayed on the Heisje today? Let yourself be inspired by them!

History / Stories / Anecdotes:
The Heisje got its name because there was a “note mission” there from around 1983 to about the end of 2005.
By the concrete path stood a post with a “mailbox” containing notes with Bible quotes and praises from the Marian Sister from Darmstadt - Eberstadt. It was filled by the father of K.F. Groebe until his death in 2005. After that, the “mailbox” disappeared.
The praise board at the Wingertsheisje was installed around 1983 and it is very likely that Alfred Winter made the “mailbox” and Mr. Groebe then set it up. This must have happened simultaneously with the installation of the praise board because at the ceremonial inauguration of the board by the Marian sisters, it was already there and was filled with the praise texts for the first time by them.
Come and see the works of God, who is so wonderful. (Psalm 66/5)
To God be the praise and glory, for you have accomplished a work of creation full of glory and beauty. MB
