The eastern entrance to the outer bailey is characterized by the former administrative building, which was built in 1771 and was used as a school and town hall from the early 19th century until the 1960s. Hardly any other place in the Selztal illustrates so vividly the structure of a late medieval water castle as well as essential aspects of the local rule and settlement history.
