The Gundersheimer Poststrasse covers a short part of the Thurn and Taxis postal route of the early 16th century between Heppenheim an der Wiese and Flonheim. The route led past Gundersheim, which was then to the east. 'Am Steinernen Kreuz' refers to the surrounding part of the district. The local community therefore built a corridor cross here in 2002 on a base made of Gundersheim limestone.
