In Mommenheim Gaustraße, you can find two churches: Right next to the Catholic church is the Protestant church.
The history of the local church community dates back to the year 791, when a church in Mommenheim was first mentioned in the so-called Lorsch Codex. The current Protestant church traces its origins to a predecessor building from the year 1472. After it had been destroyed by French troops, the church was rebuilt around 1700.
