On the ground floor of Schloss Ardeck, the Rheinhessen Bicycle Museum presents its objects in five sections on Sundays and public holidays between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. from Easter Sunday to the second weekend in October. "Bicycles in Everyday Life", "History of Bicycles and Cycling", "Sports Bicycles", "The Bicycle in Art" and "Children's Bicycles" form the core of the exhibition. Annually changing special exhibitions and a specialist library complement the extensive and well-stocked exhibits in the museum. A special feature of this museum is that visitors are allowed to touch and try things out. Of the approx. 85 exhibits from various eras on display, visitors can test ride a "Cavallo" swing bike, a railway machine, a bicycle ball machine, an artist's bicycle or a penny-farthing bicycle.
Admission is free.
Guided tours outside opening hours are possible by arrangement with the Gau-Algesheim Tourist Information Office.
