The "Gateway to Champagne" was inaugurated in 2010 and serves as a symbolic entrance to the village, reminiscent of the historical village gates of Essenheim. At the same time, the gate symbolizes the partnership established in 1978 with four municipalities in the French Champagne region. As a sign of the connection between two significant wine regions, it combines history, viticulture, and European encounters. Today, the gate invites visitors to pause and enjoy the view over the Rheinhessen landscape.
