Admission to the rehabilitation clinic may not be possible for various reasons. If a child or adolescent is in acute need of treatment, for example, due to an acute self-harm situation or alcohol and drug abuse, acute treatment should take place before rehabilitation.
At the Viktoriastift Clinic, rehabilitation is carried out according to a holistic concept. We discuss with children, adolescents, and families various areas of life where a chronic illness leads to limitations or a deterioration in quality of life.
The goal of rehabilitation is to reduce difficulties and impairments in daily life or to prevent health risks. The rehabilitation aims for a sustainable improvement in participation and quality of life in all areas such as school and work, social circles, family, and health.
During rehabilitation, the following areas are promoted:
- Cooperation and communication
- Coordination and movement
- Body awareness and self-control
- Emotion regulation
- Self-confidence and independence
- Action planning and concentration
- Social interaction and conflict resolution strategies
- Activities of daily living - such as personal hygiene, eating and drinking, sleeping, elimination
- Stress management and relaxation
