The history of the Georg Albrecht Schneider winery dates back to the 18th century. Thanks to the ownership of well-known vineyards on the Roter Hang (Hipping, Pettenthal, Orbel, and Oelberg) and calcareous soils in the south of Nierstein, cellar master Steffen Müller is able to bring out the diversity of Riesling in an exciting way. In addition to Riesling, the winery also grows the classic Burgundy varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay, Silvaner, and Sauvignon Blanc. Since 2005, the repertoire of red wines has also been expanded.
The winery in Nierstein houses an old wine cellar full of rarities from the last century. In the new and modern wine shop, visitors can purchase and taste the wines. The annual farm festival, including a premiere of the estate's wines, takes place on the second weekend in September. Our wine shop is open Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as by appointment (06133/5655). You can also find information about short wine tasting topics and other events on our website.
