Since 2011, the first wingertsschaukel in Rheinhessen has been located in Welgesheim. It is a project of the tourist association Rheinhessische Toscana e. V., implemented in collaboration with the farmers' and winegrowers' association of Welgesheim. Similar to a Hollywood swing, one can comfortably sit on a stable wooden swing with a backrest, and not just alone. There is certainly enough space for two people. This makes it possible to swing into the sunset romantically and relaxed while enjoying a glass of wine together. There will surely be various occasions for this extraordinary landscape experience!
Further wingertsschaukels can be found in Zotzenheim below the Hörnchen, at the Gigser in Wolfsheim, along the Via Vinea in Sprendlingen, as well as in Horrweiler at the Tisch des Weines. Gradually, more wingertsschaukels have been set up in other local municipalities of the VG. Since May 2020, such a swing has also been available in Aspisheim, right by the Höhenwanderweg, inviting visitors to linger with an earth refrigerator and a Tisch des Weines. At the other end of the Höhenwanderweg, the second Sprendlinger wingertsschaukel was added in June 2021 - thus, one can now walk from swing to swing along this path. The official inauguration of the wingertsschaukel took place on July 12, 2020, at the Tisch des Weines in Badenheim, and on August 30, 2020, the opening of the wingertsschaukel in Grolsheim, also directly at the local Tisch des Weines.
With the wingertsschaukeln and the Tischen des Weines, the association Rheinhessische Toscana e.V. has marked locations in the association municipality with particularly beautiful views in the midst of the vineyards or along touristically valuable routes. Thus, the beauty of the Rheinhessian hilly landscape is brought closer to wine and hiking enthusiasts.
