The miniature castle Leckzapfen was built in 1891 by the brother of the Rheinhessen composer Wendelin Weissheimer, the estate and mill owner Gustav Friedrich Weißheimer (1831-1904), who was based in Osthofen, on his vineyard of the same name. The building, which was extensively restored a few years ago on the initiative of the Kulturnetzwerk Osthofen eV, bears striking resemblance to the romantic fairy-tale castle Lichtenstein near the Swabian Alb, whose historicizing reconstruction is based on the descriptions of the well-known novel "Lichtenstein" by Wilhelm Hauff. In 2011, the leak was awarded the title "Most beautiful vineyard cottage Rheinhessen".

Several times a year, events take place on the lint, you can rent it over the tenants (winery Schönauer Hof, Dieter Kratz) in Osthofen for wine tasting and festivities of all kinds. From its balcony you can enjoy a wonderful view over Osthofen, the Rhine plain and the Rhine-Hessian hill country. The leak is in a visual axis connection to the other historicizing vineyard storms in Osthofen and is one of the particularly attractive viewpoints of the Osthofen continuous Rheinterrassenweges.
