The Herrnsheim bathing lake is hidden along the path at the edge of the Worms suburb of Herrnsheim. A large parking lot is located directly at the 6-hectare area. When visitors enter the site, they are welcomed by a true idyll. The former gravel pit lake rests quietly, with about 4 hectares of water surface, reaching a depth of 4 meters at its deepest point, depending on the water level. Generously surrounding the lake are sunbathing areas; both old and new trees provide ample shade. The local district of Herrnsheim operates the lake with many volunteer helpers: toilets, changing cabins, and showers are available in sufficient numbers. Additionally, a kiosk offers a variety of products during nice weather. There are also further recreational activities; a beach volleyball court has been installed, along with a petanque court; balls can be borrowed. A large area invites playing football, and table tennis tables are available.
