Annegret Binz presents the painter Petra Ehrnsperger in her studio. Once a year, Annegret Binz invites selected artists whose work she particularly appreciates, and dedicates an exhibition to them in order to make their work visible in this personal and focused setting.

Petra Ehrnsperger's painting is situated in gestural abstraction. Emerging from her calligraphic beginnings, she has developed a characteristic, powerful, and yet precise line quality that remains the central feature of her work to this day. Although the works are non-representational, they always arise from an engagement with current events, from personal encounters, and lived experiences. These influences condense in the connection of line, color, and technique into poetic, often lyrically graceful compositions.

Petra Ehrnsperger was born in 1963 in Nuremberg, and she lives and works in Eltville and Mainz.
